Bissell Recalls Over 150,000 Vacuums Due to Fire Hazard

The recall covers models sold between August 2016 and December 2022, following reports of battery packs overheating.

Bissell has recalled over 150,000 Multi Reach Hand and Floor Vacuum Cleaners in the U.S. and Canada due to a fire hazard caused by overheating lithium-ion battery packs.
The recall affects models sold between August 2016 and December 2022 at major retailers including Lowe's, Macy's, Kohl's, Target, and Best Buy, as well as online.
There have been 17 reports of the recalled vacuum cleaners smoking and emitting a burning odor, with six incidents resulting in the battery pack catching fire.
Three of the fire incidents resulted in minor property damage, and two caused minor burn injuries.
Consumers are urged to stop using the recalled vacuums immediately, deplete the battery charge as instructed by Bissell, and contact the company for a free replacement vacuum.
