Overview

• A man was found shot to death in the driver’s seat of a vehicle just after 12:05 a.m. Sunday at 12th Place and Mayfield Avenue, with investigators saying gunfire came from an unknown suspect as the victim tried to drive away.
• No arrests have been announced in the Mayfield Avenue case, and the victim’s identity has not yet been released by authorities.
• At Pull-A-Part on 27th Avenue North, 73-year-old Alfred Stephens of Bessemer was shot during a Friday morning argument and died Saturday at UAB Hospital, with a man and a woman seen fleeing the scene, police say.
• In Thursday’s separate case at the Jefferson Avenue Food Mart, 26-year-old Romeo D’Anthony Underwood was fatally shot; detectives presented the case to prosecutors, who ruled the shooter’s actions justified after video and other evidence were reviewed.
