Birmingham Murder Manhunt Shifts to Central London as Police Seek Asad Khan, 24

Detectives point to Covent Garden, asking London sightings be reported to the Met quoting log 2123.

  • West Midlands Police named Asad Khan, 24, and released CCTV and a custody image as they investigate a fatal stabbing inside an Alum Rock Road home on Friday morning.
  • Officers say Khan may be in the Covent Garden area of central London and ask the public to call the Metropolitan Police quoting log 2123 of 6 September with any sightings.
  • The public are warned not to approach Khan and to contact West Midlands Police on 101 quoting log 527 of 5 September or submit information anonymously via Crimestoppers.
  • The victim, a man in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene despite advanced life support, and forensic searches and a cordon remain around Alum Rock Road and Jackson Road.
  • Police state the murder inquiry is not linked to a separate Erdington incident, and after reviewing CCTV they believe Khan currently has longer hair.
