Overview
- A jury at Birmingham Crown Court found Mohammed Abdulraziq, 32, guilty of false imprisonment with intent to commit a sexual offence, sexual assault of a child under 13, and assault.
- The child vanished on March 30 in Winson Green before a neighbour saw her inside Abdulraziq’s room with both of their shorts down as bystanders forced entry and detained him.
- Judge Kerry Maylin remanded Abdulraziq in custody, ordered a Probation Service assessment for dangerousness, and said a long custodial sentence is inevitable.
- Abdulraziq denied abducting or sexually touching the girl and claimed she sought help with her clothing, a defence the jury rejected.
- He will also be sentenced for offences from March 25 involving assault occasioning actual bodily harm, attempted ABH, and criminal damage, as police praised the courage of the victim and her mother.
