Overview
- The Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery will keep the free “Ozzy Osbourne: Working Class Hero” exhibition open through December 2025 in response to overwhelming public demand.
- The retrospective originally launched on June 25 to align with Black Sabbath’s Villa Park homecoming concert and had been set to close on September 28.
- Highlights include Grammy Awards, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame accolades, MTV and Hollywood Walk of Fame stars, platinum and gold discs, and rare photographs and video chronicling Osbourne’s rise from Aston roots to rock icon.
- Following Osbourne’s July 22 death, a civic book of condolence opened alongside the exhibit, closed on August 3 and was presented to his family.
- Organized by Birmingham Museums Trust with Central BID and Sharon Osbourne Management, the exhibit is sponsored by Ocean Outdoor and supported by Birmingham City Council, Aston Villa FC and the West Midlands Growth Company.
