Overview
- Reports first said Birmingham agreed a fee of about €3.5m with Anderlecht and that Vazquez had travelled to England for a medical.
- Birmingham Live later published a club confirmation saying Vazquez has signed a three-year contract and joins the club's summer recruits.
- Vazquez arrived in Europe from Boca Juniors in 2023 and had mixed spells at Anderlecht and on loan at Getafe, where the Spanish club declined to sign him permanently.
- Data cited in coverage show he wins a high share of aerial duels but creates few chances and takes relatively few shots, so his strengths are heading and physical play rather than link-up or chance creation.
- Birmingham see him as a pragmatic, low-cost option who can act as a target man, set-piece threat, or impact substitute and the signing signals ongoing squad rebuilding ahead of the Championship season.
