Overview
- The NVWA confirmed avian influenza at an organic laying-hen farm in Streefkerk, South Holland.
- Within a 10‑kilometre zone, transport of poultry, eggs, manure and bedding is prohibited.
- Two additional poultry farms lie inside the restricted zone and are subject to extra controls.
- Parts of Krimpenerwaard — Ammerstol, Bergambacht, Berkenwoude, Lekkerkerk, Schoonhoven, Stolwijk and Vlist — are under the transport ban.
- The detection follows recent Dutch outbreaks, including culls of 62,000 birds in Terschuur and 56,000 in Opende, with reports of more than 700,000 animals killed in recent weeks.
