Binance Sees Largest Daily Bitcoin Outflow Since 2023

This reduces visible exchange supply and could lessen near-term selling pressure if withdrawn coins move into private or institutional custody.

Overview

  • CryptoQuant data showed Binance recorded more than 13,800 BTC in net withdrawals in a single day on Friday, and roughly 20,000 BTC left its reserves over four days.
  • Analyst Darkfrost flagged the reading as Binance’s biggest one-day outflow since 2023 and said the exchange now holds about 30% of the Bitcoin available across accessible trading venues.
  • The withdrawals lowered Binance’s reported reserves from roughly 705,000 BTC to about 685,000 BTC over the recent four-day stretch, reducing the amount of Bitcoin immediately available to trade on the platform.
  • Netflow figures do not reveal where coins went or why, and transfers may reflect private custody, other exchanges, institutional custodians, or internal wallet moves rather than straightforward accumulation.
  • The outflows came as Bitcoin rose about 45% since July and traded near $84,000, with U.S. spot BTC ETFs recording $346.98 million of inflows on Sept. 23, and they build on a 2026 trend of lower exchange reserves that could change market liquidity dynamics.
