Binance Lists Hyperliquid Token HYPE for Global Spot Trading

To expand liquidity for traders, the listing brings HYPE onto Binance’s global spot market while a scheduled October contributor token unlock still poses a material supply risk.

Overview

  • Binance launched HYPE spot trading on Sept. 24 with three pairs — HYPE/USDT, HYPE/USDC and HYPE/TRY — opened deposits immediately and scheduled withdrawals for Sept. 25, and placed the token under its Seed risk designation.
  • Binance requires eligible users to pass a risk-awareness quiz every 90 days and restricts access by jurisdiction and account verification, with the TRY pair limited to verified Binance TR users and U.S. residents barred from the new pairs.
  • On-chain trackers and filings show heavy whale accumulation around the listing, notably wallet 0x6436 linked to institutional strategies, while CoinGecko snapshots put HYPE’s market value near $20.9–$21 billion with high daily volumes.
  • Hyperliquid’s protocol has converted trading fees into buybacks that burned roughly $1.2 billion of HYPE (about 46–48 million tokens) per SEC filings, even as derivatives open interest reached record multi‑billion dollar levels this week.
  • The listing broadens centralized access to a trading-first Layer‑1 that uses an on‑chain order book and a fee-to-burn Assistance Fund, but concentrated holdings, heavy derivatives activity and the early-October contributor unlock create ongoing volatility and supply risks investors should watch.
