Bilt Sets Feb. 7 Launch for Cardless-Issued Bilt Card 2.0 With Three Tiers

Cardholders face a seamless migration that preserves card numbers and avoids hard credit checks.

Overview

  • Effective Feb. 7, 2026, Bilt will shift card issuance from Wells Fargo to Cardless and introduce no-fee, $95, and $495 cards.
  • New applications for the Wells Fargo-issued Bilt Mastercard close at noon ET on Nov. 5, and existing cards remain usable through Feb. 6, 2026.
  • Existing members can choose to move to Cardless via a soft credit pull with card numbers and digital wallets auto-updating, keep a Wells Fargo account that converts to an Autograph Visa with a new number, transfer balances subject to approval, or close the account.
  • Bilt confirms the new Cardless cards will earn points on mortgage payments regardless of lender, with full earning rates and terms to be revealed in early January 2026.
  • Reporting notes the conversions could appear as new accounts on credit reports, which may affect consumers’ Chase 5/24 status.
