Overview
- Bilt announced on Tuesday that Bilt Cash will start expiring on a rolling 12-month clock immediately so each dollar expires at the end of the month 12 months after it is earned.
- Beginning Jan. 1, 2027 the default card earning will switch to housing-only multipliers that pay up to 1.25x points on rent or mortgage payments and new cardholders after Dec. 31, 2026 will be placed into that default.
- Existing cardmembers can keep the Flexible 4% Bilt Cash option only if they opt out in their card settings before their card account anniversary and applicants must accept a card offer by Dec. 31, 2026 to preserve that option.
- Starting in 2027 Bilt will limit Bilt Cash redemptions for hotel bookings to two uses per year with tiered semiannual caps by tier (Blue/Silver $50, Gold/Platinum $100, Palladium $200 per half-year).
- Bilt will consolidate annual card credits into Bilt Cash delivered on cardmember anniversaries, launch gamified Daily Rewards on Jan. 15, 2027, and keep the Points Accelerator unchanged, a mix that gives everyday users clearer options and forces power users to choose how to preserve cash for accelerator use.
