Overview
- Effective immediately, Bilt points transfer to Etihad Guest at a 1:1 rate in 1,000-point increments.
- Transfers are one-way and cannot be reversed, so experts advise moving points only when an award is ready to book.
- Etihad often limits its best premium-cabin award space to its own members, with sample pricing like New York–Abu Dhabi first class at about 160,000 miles and Toronto–Abu Dhabi A380 First Apartment at about 200,000 miles one way.
- Etihad Guest imposes steep penalties on award changes and cancellations, including typical 25% mileage loss when canceling more than 21 days out, larger penalties closer in, and published AED change fees with no changes allowed within a week on many fares.
- Miles expire after 18 months of inactivity with extensions typically requiring a credited flight, and Etihad already accepts transfers from Amex, Capital One, and Citi as Bilt names it its 22nd partner.
