Billy Mitchell's Disputed Donkey Kong Scores Partially Reinstated Following Lawsuit Settlement

Billy Mitchell's disputed Donkey Kong scores have been partially reinstated by Twin Galaxies, the arcade scorekeeping website, following a settlement of a lengthy defamation lawsuit.
The scores have been reinstated in an archival version of the database, intended to preserve the site's scores from before it changed ownership in 2014.
Twin Galaxies clarified that Mitchell is still banned from Twin Galaxies competition and his world records are not going back onto the main leaderboards.
The reinstatement came after Dr. Michael Zyda, a computer scientist and former video game designer, suggested that the suspicious elements in Mitchell's original tapes could have occurred on an original, unmodified Donkey Kong arcade machine if it was malfunctioning due to hardware degradation.
Twin Galaxies has started selling 'educational t-shirts' and mugs, poking fun at the whole ordeal and explaining what cheating looks like.
