Buffalo Bills fans, known as the Bills Mafia, have been donating to Ten Lives Club, a cat adoption charity favored by kicker Tyler Bass, following his missed field goal in the team's playoff loss.
Tyler Bass's 44-yard field goal attempt, which would have sent the game into overtime, went wide right with less than two minutes left.
Following the game, Bass received online abuse and death threats, leading him to deactivate his social media accounts.
By Tuesday morning, Ten Lives Club had received almost $27,000 in donations, with more than $15,000 coming through a Facebook Fundraiser.
Donating to players' favorite charities has become a tradition for Bills Mafia, with previous instances including donations to the hospital in honor of quarterback Josh Allen and to a charity supported by Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson.
