Billionaire Ken Griffin Finances Tokyo Disney Trip for 1,200 Citadel Employees and Families to Celebrate Company Anniversaries

Extravagant Celebration for Company Milestones Includes Performances by Maroon 5 and Calvin Harris, Catering to Asia-Pacific Employees Who Missed Previous Event Due to COVID-19 Restrictions.

  • Billionaire Ken Griffin fully financed a Tokyo Disney trip for 1,200 employees and their families from Citadel and Citadel Securities' Asia-Pacific offices to celebrate the firms' recent anniversaries. This celebration catered especially to staff who were unable to attend a similar event in Florida during the previous year due to COVID-19 restrictions.
  • The celebration took place from October 27th to 29th, including employees' significant others and their children. The full cost of travel, accommodation, meals, childcare, and entertainment was covered by Griffin.
  • The event featured special musical performances by Maroon 5 and Calvin Harris. Express passes to Tokyo Disneyland were also provided, allowing attendees to enjoy various locations within the Disney resort.
  • The attendees were from Citadel's six Asia Pacific offices located in Hong Kong, Singapore, Sydney, Shanghai, Tokyo, and Gurugram. During the celebration, Griffin highlighted the talent he has gathered across both firms and their position as industry leaders.
  • This celebration recognized the 30th anniversary for Citadel and the 20th anniversary for Citadel Securities. These milestones had been previously celebrated by employees from the U.S., Canada, and Europe in 2022 with a trip to Disney World and Universal Studios along with a Coldplay concert.
