Reports surfaced on the same day that Belichick interviewed for the vacant head coaching position at the University of North Carolina, signaling his desire to return to coaching after leaving the Patriots in January.
Belichick, a six-time Super Bowl champion, has also been active in media appearances and other ventures since stepping away from the NFL.
