'Bikeriders' Dropped by Disney, Seeks New Distributor

New Regency's decision to shop the film around comes after positive reviews at its Telluride Film Festival premiere.

Overview

Disney's 20th Century Studios has dropped 'Bikeriders', a drama directed by Jeff Nichols and starring Austin Butler, Jodie Comer, and Tom Hardy.
The film, which follows a midwestern motorcycle gang, was originally scheduled for release on December 1, 2023.
The decision to find a new distributor was driven by New Regency, not Disney.
'Bikeriders' had its world premiere at the Telluride Film Festival in August and received positive reviews.
It is now unlikely that 'Bikeriders' will debut in theaters before the end of 2023, affecting its chances for this year's Oscar season.
