Overview
- As of mid-July, about 88% of Bihar’s 7.9 crore voters have submitted enumeration forms under the Special Intensive Revision, leaving roughly 6.85% to comply by the July 25 deadline.
- The EC has flagged 35.6 lakh entries for potential removal—approximately 12.5 lakh deceased voters, 17.5 lakh permanent migrants and 5.5 lakh duplicate registrations.
- A QR code-based online form and ECINet portal login for EPIC or mobile numbers have been launched to facilitate out-of-state and migrant voter participation.
- The Supreme Court has urged the EC to accept Aadhaar cards, voter ID cards and ration cards as valid documents and will hear further arguments on July 28.
- The Telugu Desam Party has written to the EC demanding an explicit statement that the revision is limited to electoral roll correction and not linked to citizenship verification.
