Overview
- The ECI reports that 94.68% of Bihar’s 7.9 crore electors have submitted enumeration forms for the draft roll, leaving 5.2% or about 41 lakh forms pending.
- Officials have flagged 36.86 lakh voters not found at their registered addresses, categorising them as probably deceased, permanently shifted, duplicate enrollees or untraceable.
- Lists of these suspect electors are being sent to district party presidents and 1.5 lakh Booth Level Agents, each authorised to certify and submit up to 50 forms daily until July 25.
- To aid temporary migrants and hard-to-reach voters, the ECI has set up special camps in all 5,683 urban wards and enabled online submissions via the ECINet app.
- The draft electoral roll will be published on August 1 with a month-long window for claims and objections, and the final roll is scheduled for September 30 ahead of the October–November polls.
