Bihar Unveils CCTNS Citizen Portal to File E‑Complaints and Track Cases

The Home Minister coupled the rollout with directives that set measurable enforcement goals.

Overview

  • Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Samrat Choudhary launched the CCTNS Citizen Service Portal and mobile app at Patna Police Headquarters, enabling residents to file complaints from home and follow investigation updates online.
  • The platform offers e‑complaints, missing person and property reports, police verifications for students and other needs, tenant–servant–driver verification, and senior citizen registration, with more services to be added.
  • Following the launch, Choudhary ordered systems to curb illegal mining and land fraud, set a three‑month target to improve traffic management, and mandated monthly DM–SP meetings with industry representatives.
  • He also sought 15‑day auctions of vehicles seized in illegal mining, a special team to stop exam paper leaks with property confiscations, stronger cybercrime coordination, 8–10 minute Dial‑112 response times, and tighter prison controls with CCTV and improved food.
  • Choudhary held a review with the DGP immediately after the launch, scheduled a follow‑up review in Purnia on December 14–15, and highlighted the newly announced Abhay Brigade to address harassment and women’s safety in public places and educational institutions.
