Overview

• Rajesh Das, also known as Akash, and Indrajit Das, known as Sagar, both from Gaya district, were taken into custody in targeted raids.
• The Bihar STF says the arrests led to the recovery of about 3.112 kilograms of stolen gold jewellery valued at over Rs 3 crore, with further action to be taken by Jabalpur police.
• A dedicated team under the STF’s Bank and Jewellery Cell, led by DSP Anand Kumar and working with Jabalpur police, SOG, SWAT and the District Intelligence Unit, conducted the operation.
• Police say armed assailants on August 11 looted 14.873 kilograms of gold and cash exceeding Rs 5 lakh from ESAF Bank’s Khitola branch in Jabalpur.
• Investigators are tracing additional suspects and assets, and officials allege Rajesh Das has a history of serious offences across multiple states.
