Overview
- Candidates aged 21 to 37 on the cutoff date are eligible to apply with upper-age relaxations available for reserved categories.
- If more than 40,000 applications are received, a preliminary MCQ exam will shortlist five times the number of vacancies for the mains.
- The preliminary test covers General Studies, General Science and Mathematics, and Mental Ability over two hours and 15 minutes.
- Each question carries four marks with a one-mark penalty for wrong answers and the English version prevailing in case of any language dispute.
- Examinees may bring one NCERT, BSEB or ICSE textbook per subject into the hall while guidebooks, notes and electronic devices are prohibited.
