Bihar Phase 1 Voting Starts November 6: Digital IDs, Booth Lookup and Updated Polling Protocols

Voters are being directed to use official portals for digital IDs plus booth verification before casting ballots.

Overview

  • Polling will be held in two phases on November 6 and November 11, with results scheduled for November 14.
  • Digital voter IDs (e-EPIC) are available through the National Voters’ Service Portal and the Voter Helpline app using an EPIC number or registered mobile verification.
  • Any one of 12 approved photo IDs will be accepted at polling stations, voter information slips are not valid ID, and the on-booth sequence remains verification, signature, indelible ink and EVM voting.
  • Polling booth details can be checked on electoralsearch.eci.gov.in or nvsp.in, with options to download booth slips, scan public QR codes or seek help from Booth Level Officers or district election offices.
  • The election follows a special revision of rolls and will use 45,341 polling stations with a rural majority, alongside EC measures such as updated EVM ballot papers with clearer candidate photos, a 1,200-voter cap per booth, expanded webcasting, QR-coded voter slips and mandated VVPAT scrutiny on mismatch.
