Overview

  • Over 70% of eligible registrants used the two mobile apps to vote, surpassing the 54.6% turnout at traditional polling booths.
  • Voting was powered by two Android apps—e-SECBHR by C-DAC and a Bihar SEC app—with blockchain, face recognition, scanning and a VVPAT-style audit trail ensuring security.
  • After 10,000 participants registered by June 22, officials enabled 50,000 voters to cast ballots remotely to aid those unable to reach polling stations.
  • Bibha Kumari of Pakridayal in East Champaran became the first person in India to cast a mobile e-vote when polls opened at 7 a.m. on June 28.
  • Vote counting on June 30 will determine whether to scale mobile e-voting for the October–November 2025 Bihar assembly elections.
