Bihar Jewellery Heist: ₹25 Crore Looted From Tanishq Store, 2 Arrested

Six armed robbers executed a 17-minute daylight robbery in Arrah, Bihar, stealing jewellery and cash, with police recovering a significant portion of the loot after a gunfight.

The robbery occurred at 10:30 AM on Monday at the Tanishq showroom in Gopali Chowk, Arrah, with six men entering the store posing as customers.
The robbers overpowered the security guards, held staff at gunpoint, and stole jewellery worth ₹25 crore, including gold, diamonds, and cash.
The heist was captured on CCTV, showing the robbers locking the shutters and fleeing within 17 minutes; police were reportedly slow to respond to distress calls.
Two suspects were arrested after a police chase and gunfight, with officers recovering two pistols, 10 bullets, two bags of stolen jewellery, and a motorcycle.
Opposition leaders criticized the Nitish Kumar government for its handling of the incident, highlighting concerns about law and order in the state.
