Bihar Cabinet Approves Six UDAN Airports and Patna Five-Star Hotel

Overview

  • The cabinet signed a memorandum of understanding with the Airports Authority of India to develop new airports at Madhubani, Birpur, Munger, Valmiki Nagar, Muzaffarpur and Saharsa with a total allocation of ₹150 crore.
  • A Letter of Award was issued to Kumar Infratrade Enterprises Ltd for a five-star hotel near Patna’s Income Tax Golambar on a 90-year public-private partnership lease.
  • Minimum support prices were set at ₹5,650 for chana, ₹5,950 for mustard and ₹6,700 for masoor to boost farmer incomes and procurement.
  • Contracts for 1,717 retired army personnel in the Special Auxiliary Police were extended through 2025–26 and new rules mandate that half of clerk and librarian posts in schools and libraries be filled through compassionate appointments.
  • The cabinet sanctioned new Health Department positions, granted about 70 acres for an industrial zone in Nawada district and approved ₹2.58 crore for a resurvey of five major rivers to aid drought-affected farmers.
