Bihar Cabinet Approves Five-Star Tourism Projects, Cuts Government Exam Fees

State land will be leased to private developers under the 2023 infrastructure law governing PPP projects.

Overview

  • Two five-star hotels in Rajgir and a five-star resort in Vaishali received approval in PPP mode, each on 10 acres at sites near Mela Maidan and the Buddha Samyak Darshan Museum-cum-Memorial Stupa.
  • Preliminary test application fees for major state recruitment exams were set at Rs 100, with no fee for mains examinations.
  • The State Teacher Award amount was doubled to Rs 30,000 for government school educators, with no cap on the number of awardees after 42 were recognized last year.
  • Road works were sanctioned with Rs 363.99 crore for a 7.40 km four-lane link, including an ROB, to the Rajgir Sports Complex and Rs 539.19 crore to upgrade the 19.43 km Salepur–Narsanda–Telmar–Karauta stretch to four lanes.
  • The cabinet cleared transfer of 46 acres for the Bihar Special Armed Police headquarters and sale of 2 acres to the state power transmission company for a 132/33 KV sub-station at Mauza Rasulpur for Rs 2.25 crore, and approved the 2026 holiday calendar.
