Bihar Cabinet Approves ₹882.87 Crore Plan to Redevelop Punaura Dham
Officials will lay the foundation stone in August under the guidance of Noida-based consultants emulating Ayodhya’s Ram Janmabhoomi design.

- The state Cabinet sanctioned a comprehensive ₹882.87 crore redevelopment scheme for Punaura Dham, the revered birthplace of Goddess Sita in Sitamarhi.
- The approved budget allocates ₹137 crore to renovate the existing Janki Mandir, ₹728 crore to build tourism and visitor amenities, and the remainder for ten years of upkeep.
- Noida-based Design Associates Inc has been appointed master planner and architect to mirror the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirth Kshetra layout from Ayodhya.
- Officials are preparing to lay the foundation stone in August, aiming to complete the main construction by October–November 2025.
- The master plan features a parikrama path, Sita-Vatika, Luv-Kush Vatika, thematic gates, display kiosks, parking zones, upgraded roads and future Ram-Janaki Marg road and Vande Bharat rail links.
