Big 12 Unveils 18-Game Basketball Scheduling Matrix for 2025–26 Season

Conference play has been cut from 20 to 18 games to ease travel burdens at the same time that competitive balance is preserved.

  • The Big 12 Conference released its 2025-26 men’s and women’s basketball scheduling matrix with an 18-game league slate replacing last season’s 20-game format.
  • Under the new matrix each school will play three opponents home and away and face the remaining 12 teams once, alternating six games at home and six on the road.
  • Kansas men’s basketball will meet Arizona, Iowa State and Kansas State in home-and-home series and play single games against teams such as Baylor, BYU and Houston at Allen Fieldhouse.
  • The Kansas women’s program will host Kansas State, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech twice and split its other 12 conference games evenly between home and road venues.
