The conference is opting for video-only access now, with audio from the room targeted for next season.

Overview

  • The rollout follows a quiet test during Houston’s game against Colorado and will appear on ESPN, Fox and TNT broadcasts.
  • Viewers will see the command center’s video during reviews this season, but no live audio from replay officials.
  • Some games will be excluded when non–Big 12 officiating crews are assigned, including Oklahoma State vs. Tulsa on Friday.
  • The feature’s debut weekend includes No. 16 Utah at No. 17 Texas Tech on Saturday.
  • The ACC introduced similar look-ins earlier this season, and a separate Week 2 miscommunication there was reported to have contributed to longtime referee Gary Patterson stepping away.
