Biden will receive Germany's highest civilian honor, the Sonderstufe des Großkreuzes des Bundesverdienstordens, for his contributions to German-American relations.
The originally planned summit with other Western leaders at the Ramstein Air Base will not be rescheduled during Biden's visit.
