Biden invites reinstated Tennessee lawmakers to White House after expulsion over gun control protests

The fatal shooting of six people at a Nashville private school last month kicked off a stream of calls for changes to Tennessee’s gun laws.
President Joe Biden will meet with three Tennessee Democratic legislators at the White House on Monday.
Biden invited them to continue the conversation over their calls for gun control and an assault weapons ban.
Although Jones and Pearson were reappointed to their offices, they will still have to run for reelection in a special election since their appointment is more than a year before the next state election in November 2024.
