Biden Honors Stanley Cup Champions Vegas Golden Knights at White House

President Praises Team's Community Work in Aftermath of 2017 Las Vegas Shooting

President Joe Biden honored the 2023 Stanley Cup winners, the Vegas Golden Knights, at a White House ceremony, marking the return of an NHL tradition.
The Golden Knights are the first team to visit the White House since the Tampa Bay Lightning in April 2022.
Biden praised the team for their on-ice accomplishments and their work in the community, particularly in the aftermath of the 2017 Las Vegas mass shooting.
The team's championship rings honor the victims of the shooting, with diamonds forming a star, the same star on the banner that honored the 58 people who were lost that day.
Team captain Mark Stone, who led all players in the 2023 Finals with five goals and four assists, said it was an incredible honor to be at the White House.
