Matthew Pritzker, a co-host for President Biden's upcoming fundraiser, has been removed from the event's invitations after being accused of sexual misconduct and sued for $25 million.
The lawsuit was filed under the Adult Survivors Act, a 2022 legislation that allowed a one-year window for alleged victims of sexual misconduct to file civil lawsuits in cases that fell outside the statute of limitations.
Pritzker, whose relatives started the Hyatt hotel chain and whose cousin is Biden campaign co-chair and Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker, has been a significant donor to Democratic candidates and causes.
The fundraiser, to be held at the home of celebrity interior designer Michael Smith and his partner, James Costos, is expected to draw big-name donors spending as much as nearly $930,000 apiece in support of Biden's reelection bid.
Pritzker has until December 13 to respond to the allegations in court.
