- The National Spectrum Strategy aims to advance U.S. leadership globally in wireless technology and improve services in sectors such as aviation, transportation, manufacturing, energy, and space.
- The National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) developed the Strategy in coordination with the Federal Communications Commission and other Executive Branch agencies.
- The Strategy will study five spectrum bands for potential repurposing, which could be used for wireless broadband, drones, and satellite operations.
- The Strategy also includes plans for long-term planning, coordination among government agencies, encouragement of innovation in the sector, and workforce development.
