The initiatives include extending the Federal Housing Administration and Federal Financing Bank Risk Sharing program, modernizing the HOME program, and providing $225 million in grants for manufactured housing communities.
HUD will also release new resources and clarify policies to prohibit certain non-rent fees in its housing programs, aiming to protect tenants from impermissible charges.
A Tenants Bill of Rights has been adopted on all Department of Defense military bases, covering approximately 203,000 houses for service members.
The administration calls on Congress to make further investments to ensure access to quality and affordable housing for all Americans.
