Biden administration investing $600 million to resume free at-home COVID test delivery program

The Biden administration is providing $600 million to bolster domestic manufacturing of COVID-19 tests.
Starting September 25, households can order a pack of 4 free at-home COVID tests through the COVIDTests.gov website.
The administration aims to distribute around 200 million tests to meet demand and prevent shortages during potential fall and winter surges.
The new tests are designed to detect current COVID variants and can be used through the end of 2023.
This marks the return of the free test delivery program after it was temporarily suspended in May to conserve supply.
