Overview

• Poole Magistrates' Court handed Moffat Konofilia an 18-month community order with 60 hours of unpaid work, 26 rehabilitation activity days and a 100-day alcohol monitoring tag.
• The assault occurred on Weymouth Beach in December 2023 while he was housed on the Bibby Stockholm migrant barge.
• Prosecutors said he kissed the teenager twice as she said "no" and that she recorded part of the encounter before reporting it to police the next day.
• He must comply with sex-offender notification requirements for five years following the conviction.
• Konofilia denied kissing her in interview, claimed he believed she was 18, and has since been moved to asylum accommodation in Coventry.
