Bhopal Police Arrest 21-Year-Old Over Home Counterfeit Ring, Seize Rs 2.25 Lakh in Fake Rs 500 Notes

• Officers detained Vivek Yadav after a tip-off and recovered 23 counterfeit Rs 500 notes from him before moving the probe to his residence.
• A search of his rented home in Karond yielded 428 fake Rs 500 notes with a face value of Rs 2,25,500 and equipment including a computer, printer and precision cutting tools.
• Investigators say he learned the process from online material and prior printing-press work, using special paper, imitation security strips, watermarks and exact sizing.
• He told police he had circulated roughly Rs 5–6 lakh in counterfeit notes over the past year by targeting small shops in outlying areas to obtain genuine change.
