Bhopal Demolishes Six Illegal Properties Worth Rs 50–100 Crore Tied to Machhli Gang

The bulldozer action aims to cripple the gang’s financial base ahead of further prosecutions.

  • The district administration, backed by police and Nagar Nigam, razed six structures on encroached government land at Anantpura-Kokta bypass valued between Rs 50 crore and Rs 100 crore.
  • Demolished assets included farmhouses, a warehouse, a factory, an unauthorised madrasa and a marriage lawn used to facilitate drug trafficking and sexual exploitation.
  • Hard disks, computers and CCTV DVRs seized during the operation are under forensic review to strengthen cases covering rape, drug supply, fraud, conspiracy, assault and arms dealing.
  • Primary suspects Yaseen Ahmed and his uncle Shahwar Ahmed remain in custody along with more than 20 associates as police prepare further charges.
  • Officials say analysis of the digital evidence may yield new arrests and reveal political links that protected the syndicate’s illegal operations.
