Bhopal Constables Booked in Student’s Death After Autopsy and CCTV Review

Investigators plan to seek custody of the suspended officers before arrest.

  • CCTV footage from around 1:30 a.m. appears to show one constable beating Udit while another stands nearby with a firearm.
  • Police said the constables admitted to assaulting Udit but claimed no intent to kill, and the DCP said a detailed probe will determine how the pancreatic damage occurred.
  • Friends alleged the policemen demanded Rs 10,000 and issued threats, and relatives and supporters later protested at AIIMS-Bhopal and outside Piplani police station.
