BHEL Wins ₹13,000–₹15,000 Crore EPC Orders for Two 660 MW Units, Gains GST Relief

The multi-year EPC packages expand a backlog above ₹2 lakh crore with each unit slated for delivery in 57 months.

Overview

  • BHEL said it received notifications of award from MPPGCL for EPC packages for 1×660 MW Amarkantak Unit 6 and 1×660 MW Satpura Unit 12 in Madhya Pradesh.
  • The contracts, valued between ₹13,000 crore and ₹15,000 crore excluding taxes and duties, cover equipment supply, civil works, erection and commissioning with a 57‑month schedule per unit.
  • The company stated the awards were secured through an open tender and that MPPGCL has no promoter or group company link to BHEL, so the deals are not related‑party transactions.
  • In a separate filing, BHEL reported that the Commissioner of Customs & Central Tax (Appeals‑II), Hyderabad, set aside a prior GST demand along with the associated interest and penalty.
  • BHEL shares rose roughly 2%–2.4% after the disclosures, and the company previously reported an order book exceeding ₹2 lakh crore in the June quarter.
