Overview
- BHEL disclosed Wednesday that it has received four orders from Adani Power, each for two 800 MW units, giving a combined capacity of 6,400 MW.
- The company said the contracts are valued at Rs 5,000–7,000 crore each, or Rs 20,000–28,000 crore in total, excluding GST.
- The orders cover supply of boilers, turbines, generators, auxiliary systems and agreed services, and BHEL stated the transactions are not related-party deals.
- BHEL shares jumped about 3.5–4% after the filing while Adani Power rose modestly, and at least one broker, Geojit, upgraded BHEL to a Buy with a higher price target.
- No project sites or firm completion dates were disclosed, so recognition of revenue and any margin gains will depend on Adani Power’s project timelines and milestone-based execution.
