Overview

  • Under the memorandum of understanding signed June 17, Bharat Forge will partner with French firm Turgis Gaillard to offer the AAROK MALE UAV to India’s Ministry of Defence.
  • Bharat Forge aims to establish an on-site production line in India, ensuring domestic manufacturing of the UAV and supporting self-reliance goals.
  • AAROK is engineered for high-altitude, long-duration missions with over 24 hours of flight endurance and permanent linkage to command systems for real-time data sharing.
  • The UAV carries more than 1.5 tonnes of weapons and can conduct deep-strike operations beyond enemy lines, neutralising air defences and supporting multi-domain missions.
  • The pact secures full control over maintenance and overhaul operations and follows a recent DRDO technology transfer that expanded Bharat Forge’s role in national defence R&D.
