Overview
- Traffic at the Bhandup-Sonapur (GMLR) junction will be fully closed overnight on Nov. 1–2, with access limited to emergency services.
- The work involves installing a 56-metre steel span for Metro Line 4 in two phases using cranes and multi-axle trailers at the LBS Road junction.
- Mumbai Police published diversion routes for traffic from Powai/JVLR to Mulund and from Kanjurmarg–Bhandup, with detours of up to about 2.5 km expected.
- Contingency nights on Nov. 8–9 are reserved if needed, and one lane at the junction may remain closed from Nov. 3 to Dec. 31 for connection works.
- Separate JVLR restrictions for Metro-6 will run Nov. 5 to Jan. 15 in the Sakinaka division, as the BMC orders metro and monorail agencies to submit updated emergency plans.
