BGMI 4.0 ‘Spooky Soiree’ Rolls Out With India-Made Stepwell, Ghost Gameplay and New Modes

Phased availability starts today across platforms, with certain features and events set to unlock on a schedule.

  • KRAFTON India launched version 4.0 anchored by Stepwell, the first BGMI location conceived and built in India.
  • Ghost systems add Ghostie companions and Prankster Ghost revival, allowing eliminated players to continue aiding their squads.
  • Some ghost abilities will be enabled gradually over roughly two weeks after the version update rather than all at once.
  • New content spans the Unfail 4v1 mode, the Mortar weapon and the Magic Broom vehicle, plus Diwali events including the Exchange Center (Oct 3–23) and fireworks in Stepwell (Oct 18–24).
  • The update is rolling out in phases on Android and iOS, with Google Play reaching full availability by 11:30 IST and the website APK at 12:30 IST, and it includes a fix for recent iOS crashes.
