- Eight players, four each from Hertha BSC and 1. FC Union, have been nominated for Berlin’s Footballer of the Year award for the 2024/25 season.
- Hertha’s nominees are Michael Cuisance, Toni Leistner, Ibrahim Maza and the 2023/24 winner Fabian Reese, while Union’s shortlist includes Danilho Doekhi, Benedict Hollerbach, Leopold Querfeld and Frederik Rönnow.
- Benedict Hollerbach and Ibrahim Maza will leave their Berlin clubs after the season for FSV Mainz 05 and Bayer Leverkusen respectively.
- The BFV also announced contenders for best female player, led by former winner Elfie Wellhausen alongside Union’s Nina Ehegötz and Dina Orschmann.
- Eight amateur players, including Patrick Breitkreuz, Björn Jopek and ex-pro Änis Ben-Hatira, are in the running for the amateur player award with public voting open through July 2.
