Overview

• Police said the collision occurred around 11:30 pm near the Veer Kotwal Udyan/Plaza bus stop when a tempo traveller struck the right side of a moving Route 169 bus.
• The impact forced the bus onto the pavement, killing pedestrian Shahabuddin, 37, and injuring four others identified as Rahul Ashok Padale, Rohit Ashok Padale, Akshay Ashok Padale, and Vidya Rahul Mote.
• The injured were taken to Sion Hospital with assistance from the bus conductor and local police.
• Preliminary reports state the bus was a Mateshwari wet‑lease vehicle returning to Pratiksha Nagar depot, registered as MH01DR4654.
• The tempo traveller also hit a taxi and a tourist car, and Shivaji Park Police registered a case against the driver, moved the bus to Wadala Depot for RTO checks, and are examining possible alcohol use.
