Overview

• Several of the 17 PMI-built 12-metre e-buses entered service on AC route A-84 linking Oshiwara depot and the Museum via the Coastal Road with four new stops.
• The service operates seven days a week at 40–45 minute intervals with published first and last departures at both termini.
• The induction was inaugurated at Colaba by IAS officer Asheesh Sharma, and the vehicles will be operated from the Oshiwara depot.
• The new buses feature a public address system, mobile and laptop charging points, and wider passenger space for greater comfort.
• BEST’s fleet stands at 2,711 buses with more than 1,000 electrics including 50 double-deckers, mostly on wet lease as depot charging shortfalls have previously kept delivered units idle.
