Bernie Kosar Returns to Hospital After Liver Transplant

The former Browns quarterback is undergoing routine post-transplant monitoring following his Nov. 17 liver surgery.

He had a five-hour liver transplant at UH Cleveland Medical Center on Nov. 17 and was discharged on Nov. 24 to begin outpatient recovery.
He returned for post-transplant bloodwork as part of standard follow-up that includes frequent testing, according to earlier guidance from his surgical team.
The organ was donated by the family of 21-year-old Bryce Dunlap, and Kosar expressed thanks with a $25,000 gift to the family on Thanksgiving.
